Is it worth to buy a new battery for an old laptop? My current battery will not charge beyond 60%, even after about 5 hours of charging time but The machine otherwise works very well for being over 6 years old
Nowadays, Many laptops don't have a replaceable battery. If the problem isn't battery but a broken keyboard or screen, you also need to see whether these parts are easy to swap out. If the other parts are fine and battery could be replaced you can definitely do it.
If your laptop is working fine. you can definitely replace old battery with new battery. Most laptop batteries start to fail in 1-2 years. This varies depending on your usage, of course, but the average laptop battery is good for around 400 recharges.
If your laptop is too old, you can just replace your laptop itself instead of investing in new battery.
