I lost 50% of my personal business files as well as 100% of my media files, including digital pictures I didn't have a proper backup. I do understand that it may be days/weeks/months/years before a decryptor becomes available but I wanted to ask if anyone has a recommended location to keep checking?

You may try with Emsisoft decryptors they offer you free of cost for the victims.
