What is the basic difference between endpoint security and anti virus? One who needs security must go with endpoint security or antivirus?

Endpoint security is the process of securing the various endpoints on a network, often defined as end-user devices such as mobile devices, laptops, and desktop PCs, although hardware such as servers in a data center are also considered endpoints whereas Antivirus software scans directories or specific files for known malicious patterns indicating the presence of malicious software in the device such as (mobile, laptop, Pcs, etc).

Endpoint security systems work on a client/server model. A client program is installed on or downloaded to every endpoint, which, in this case, is every user device that connects to the corporate network whereas Antivirus software helps to protect your computer against viruses by using antivirus software, such as Symantec,Avast, AVG, Comodo ..etc..

It's just AV software with a different name. It does the. It secures your endpoints from malware attacks same as antivirus software does.
