Fortinet is Buying Endpoint Security Agency enSilo

The 10 Endpoint Security Products for Business 1

Fortinet announced on Monday that it has completed the acquisition of the enSilo endpoint security service, based in San Francisco.

By acquiring it, Fortinet adds enSilo’s detection and response technology to its Safety Fabric Framework, enabling organizations to manage different network security segments from one location.

Including automated risk detection, human-driven incident response, software tracing technology for attack prevention and information ex-filtration, and ransomware as well as access control and security features for IoT phones, and highly scalable on-premises and cloud deployments, enSilo provides Fortinet a broad array of capabilities.

In Fortinet’s FortiGate, FortiSandbox and FortiCustomer services the enSilo software was already used, and the endpoint security company was a part of the Fabric program. Once the purchase has been completed, enSilo software will also be integrated with FortiSIEM, FortiInsight UEBA, and FortiNAC solutions.

“As companies become more connected with the cloud and Internet of Things in operation, the digital attack surface expanded exponentially and became more complex to secure. When handling or protecting these new environments, manual risk hunting or point safety solutions are not successful. Alternatively, security and the network must be integrated and coordinated in order to contain emerging threats at network speeds, “said Ken Xie, CEO and Fortinet’s founder.

“We add automated real-time detection, security, and response improvements to our Fortinet Security Fabric when acquiring enSilo, to further protect the endpoints and the correct edge information.”
