1.Free Antivirus provides you limited & basic features, Free version only protects system from viruses and does not fulfill your requirements
2.Free version has Minimal Protection
3.Basic features such as scanning for presence of viruses are notified the user

1.Paid Antivirus provides you more features like Firewall, Wireless protection, Sandbox
2.Paid version has Improved protection
3.More advanced features such as identity theft protection, firewalls, parental controls, and system performance tools are available in paid versions

This is a very interesting question for computer users. We all like free things but here i must say that you will not get everything in a free antivirus software. I mean some features may be missing in these antivirus. In paid antivirus, you will get all premium features like anti-phishing, anti-adware, anti-malware, parental control etc. Some antivirus companies offers free antivirus with a limited trial of 15 days to one month.

Well, the difference between paid and free antivirus software is the features. Free version provides basic features whereas, a paid version of an antivirus software provides advanced features. Therefore, it is advisable to go for a paid version of an antivirus software rather than a free version.

Stay Secure!

You can use the built-in windows defender + malwarebytes anti-exploit free version

Moreover, Avira Free Antivirus is aslo fast, friendly, doesn't give you too many prompts and alerts, can identify unwanted apps inside legitimate applications and most importantly of all, achieved 100 percent malware detection in tests - a score shared with BitDefender and Kaspersky, but significantly ahead of many of its rivals.

Don't forget the fourth one. You also gotta keep an eye on other people less scrupulous and informed than you, who use your computer.
Make them a local account, so they can't mess things up too bad.

The paid version will have more options. But I think that free version is enough to save your computer from malwares.

If you are selling your own antivirus, then in free version give users limited functionality.

A short database of viruses known antivirus definitions, no real time protection, no support for phishing and scamming In the free version.

Give all these benefits in paid version. Thats how all antivirus differs in free and paid versions.
