How do I delete old unread emails from my Gmail?

I have 1000s of unread emails in my gmail account. I cannot open each message to make it read. How to delete unread old emails from gmail?

Follow the procedures given here to remove old unread emails on ur gmail account.

  • Sign in to your Gmail Account.
  • Once you entered successfully then Go to search box in your Gmail account and
  • Type this text in:inbox is:unread.
  • After that go to right side and press enter and you will get all unread emails in search page.
  • Now select all emails with select button.All conversation of the current page is selected.
  • Above selected emails find all x conversations on this search page are selected.
  • Select all conversations that match this search.
  • Click Select all conversations that match this search this will select all your unread emails on your id.
  • Now select more option and click on it here you will find a delete option so you have to select delete and your all unread emails are deleted.

Follow these simple steps:
1.Search with this query:(in:inbox) and (is:unread)
2.Select all messages:
3.At the top of your messages, click on "All __ conversations on this page are selected. Select all conversations that match this search."
4. Click on the delete icon.

It’s easy. Sign in, go to the search box, type in:inbox is:unread to get all unread messages, select all of them and then click on delete (which you can find by clicking on the ‘more’ option). Anyhow, I’d say do a quick look through all your unread emails so that you don’t accidentally delete any important email that you haven’t noticed or read. However, as long as the deleted emails remain in the trash folder (where it remains for 30 days) you can recover any of them, but yes, only as long as they are in the trash folder!
